Week 12 - Summertime at the beach5/18/2022 This week is the last week and I decided to use last 2 color palettes in one painting. This project has been pretty fun and I liked doing different paintings each week. For this last painting, I did another beach scene, but I changed it so it wouldn't look too similar to the one from week 9. I also named it "Summertime at the beach" since summer is coming up. I used the colors from color palette 11 for the sky and used the yellow shade for the sun. The sky is supposed to look like a sunset. Color palette 12 was used for the sand and the oceans. The pink shades were used for the beach towels. I made this painting look special, especially since it's the last week. I think that I have improved my creativity and that my paintings looked better as the weeks went past. I hope to become more creative in the future and thank you for reading my blogs during my journey.

Week 11 - Fancy Album Cover5/11/2022 Last week's color palette was an album cover, so I decided to another one since I find them pretty fun to do. This cover is for a song called fancy by twice, which is another one of my favorite songs. A comparison for the original picture and the recreation of it is shown above. I used the orange shades for the background and the yellow shade was also used for the background along with the skin tones for the members. The blue and pink shades were used for the title and some of their clothes. I think that the recreation I did is very different to the original album cover, but it still turned out good.

Week 10 - Lilac Album Cover5/4/2022 This week's palette made me want to do something I was interested in, so I decided to remake one of my favorite song's album cover Lilac by IU. The pictures shown above are a comparison of the original picture and the painting that is a recreation. I first started off with the beige shade for her face and then used the white shade for her shirt and the flowers in the background. I then had to use the light purple shade for her hair, which kind of makes the album cover look different since in the original picture her hair is brown but I still think it looks okay. I used the rest of the purple shades for the text, two more flowers, and the background. I really like this painting since it's different from the others ones I have done and that it is one of my favorite songs and album covers. This is also definitely one of my favorite paintings I have done.

Week 9 - Beach Scene4/25/2022 This color palette made me think of doing a beach because the light yellow and the blue shades reminded me of sand and an ocean. So I started off by painting the sand and the ocean with those colors. I then used the light blue shade for the sky and I also added a sun. For the pink shades, I made a chair and a beach umbrella and I liked how both of those turned out. I used the last color, which was a light gray shade, for the outline of everything so the painting stands out more. I think that this looks pretty neat and that I did a decent job on it.

Week 8 - Bedroom4/20/2022 The color palette this week was really similar to the one last week, so it was kind of difficult to come up with something. I did something different from all my other paintings and decided on doing a bedroom. I first used the purple shades for the bed. Then for the blue shades, I did the wall and a window. For the light blue shade, I did the outlines for the bed and the window so everything stands out more. I also used it for the stars that are in the window. I think that this painting looks pretty simple and not much is going on, but it still looks good.

Week 7 - Outer Space4/6/2022 This color palette was a little difficult to come up with ideas because I didn't know what to make with the colors. However, I eventually came up with doing a space painting since it kind of reminded me of space. I started off by using the dark shade of purple for the background. I then used the light purple shade for a planet, which I put in the corner. I made more planets with the three shades of blue and I also put a rocket ship. Finally, I used the tan shade for the stars, shooting stars, and the ring for the purple planet. I think that it made the painting stand out more, since it adds details and finishing touches. It made it look more interesting and I overall like how everything turned out.

Week 6 - Taking a sail at night3/30/2022 The color palette that I got this week is a bit different from the palettes I have done in the past weeks. This one has a lot of shades of blue and I really like this one because blue is one of my favorite colors. I started off this painting with using the three shades of blue that are in the middle of the palette as waves, since they look like they can be colors of an ocean. I then used the darkest shade of blue for the background, which is the night sky. Finally, I used the lightest shade of blue for the moon, stars, boat, and the details in the waves. I like how everything goes well together in this painting and I like how I got to use one of my favorite colors.

Week 5 - Dry Desert3/22/2022 It is week 5 and the color palette that has been chosen were two shades of orange, one shade of yellow, and two shades of green. My first thoughts on this color palette was that it reminded me of a desert. So I started using the orange shades for the sand and made some hills. For the two shades of green, I used them for the cactus. The dark green shade is the shape of the cactus and the light green shade is for the details and the outline. I then used the final color, which was the yellow shade, for the sky. I was going to use the yellow for the sand, but I didn't since there were already two orange shades that I could already use for it. The final part of the painting is the sun, which I used the dark orange shade for. This painting was pretty simple to make and it turned out good.

Week 4 - Strawberry Ice cream3/16/2022 This week, the color palette that I used today were different shades of pink. When I first saw this color palette, I thought of doing strawberry ice cream because I thought it matches the color scheme really well. How I started it off was I used the pink shades that I liked for the ice cream scoops. I then stacked all three of them on top of each other and made them look like they were melting. For the color that looked sort of orange, I made it the cone and placed it underneath the ice cream scoops. I might of made the cone a bit too small because it kind of looks hard to see, but it looks good with the ice cream scoops. To make the ice cream have more detail and for it to look more better, I decided for the color that has a darker pink to be the sprinkles and the cherry on top. For the final touches, I used the last color that kind of looks like a pale shade of pink for the background. This painting turned out pretty good and I think it looks pretty simple yet still cool.

Week 3 - Tropical Leaves3/9/2022 For this week, I really like how the painting for this one turned out. When I saw this color palette, the first thing that came to my mind was a sunset. However, I did something similar to that last week so I decided to come up with a different idea. I came up with doing leaves and I tried adding more detail into the leaves. This painting turned out really neat and quite better than I expected. It kind of looks like it could be a wallpaper for a phone. I named this tropical leaves because it gives off a tropical vibe to it.
